Website of the Month: Welcome to E-derm: This is a great web-pda interactive training experience in the diagnosis of skin cancer. We all have a need to do this better in order to minimize over-referral for biopsy of benign lesions. Our two principal problems are that we are not consistently systematic in our approach and we haven't seen enough of the variants that can confuse us. This little program solves both. The web site is www.edermpda.com. For first time users, you click on "Log In:" and will be given instructions for requesting a free username and password by e-mail or phone. Then you click on "Log In," enter these, and you start the course, which consists of a terrific portrait gallery of benign and malignant lesions for you to experience, along with a tutorial and a quiz. At the end you get to click on a "Download" button, that puts the precise set of questions you should ask about any suspicious lesions on your Palm Pilot and will actually write a note for you, if you want. This is a great way to improve your exam and your appropriate referral rate. |
