HIV/Adhere

Patient Report

The Patient Report is an educational hand-out for the patient created and printed at the end of the A-CASI.

The report displays the patient's regimen in a graphical mediset, computer-tailored intervention feedback, patient education about HAART adherence, viral load and CD-4 count.

Both patient responses to the A-CASI and patient information stored in the system are used in report creation.

Staying On Track

You are taking powerful anti-HIV medications. Feeling side effects from the medications is common, and you may be having a particularly bad reaction. Your doctor is the best person to talk with about this. Your doctor can help by changing your meds or schedule or by giving you medications to help with the side effects.

Staying in the Safety Zone

Take a look at the graphic below. Find the arrow that shows where you are. We want you to be in the "safest zone." Why? Because people in the "safest zone" are 4 times more likely to have an undetectable viral load than people in the "danger zone"! People in the "safest zone" are also two times more likely to have an undetectable viral load compared with people in the "safer zone"!

Adherence in Past Week

Viral Load means how much HIV is in your blood. You should take all your prescribed pills to keep your viral load down.

Your viral load should be as LOW as possible.

Your current Viral Load is 465

CD-4 cells help you fight HIV and other infections. Taking your medicines can keep your CD-4 cells high to fight HIV.

Your CD-4 cell count should be as HIGH as possible.

Your current CD-4 count is 808
